Premiership Update
The Premiership is well under way now with 8 games already played. As ever it is turning out to be an exciting year. No one has really missed Ronaldo and Manchester United had their best start for a number of years.

There have been some impressive wins and also some impressive losses. The bookies are a bit upset though as this year there have been a record low of game draws. They usually make a lot of money on football bets where the game ends in a draw rather than a win or a loss as not many people bet on draws.
However this year has seen only a 12% draw rate which has been unseen in previous years. You may want to get a free bet to take advantage of this.
Strikers have been on fire this year so far. Top of the charts is Torres who has 8 goals in 8 games. An impressive start for him. Next, with 7 goals is Darren Bent. A great start for the Englishman at his new club has seen him become a fan’s favourite already. Didier Drogba, has been instrumental for Chelsea this season. He has 6 goals so far and a number of assists. When they lose him in January to the African Cup of Nations, they will have to hope Anelka is in form. Their transfer ban stops them from bringing in any new players.
Without Ronaldo, Rooney has taken over the role as Manchester United’s most important asset. He has thrived in his new centre forward role and although any team would miss Ronaldo, he is not missed as much as some thought.
A big issue this year is the defensive frailties in the big four teams, most notably Liverpool. They have been leaking goals almost every match. Their usual strong defensive record is not present this year. They have already lost more games than last season! Manchester United have also had their problems. With van der Sar out with an injury, Ben Foster has been in goal. His decision making has been problematic and this coupled with Rio Ferdinand’s mistakes, they too have looked shaky at the back.
Arsenal, superb at times and shocking at others, have also made numerous defensive errors. Their 4-2 loss to Manchester City stands out.
Chelsea, although with the strongest defence this year so far, have had a few blips. Their 3-1 loss to Wigan for example. They also conceded early in their first few games to bottom-half teams, although they came back to win these games.
