49ers stadium deal includes a cap on public subsidy, possible ticket surcharge

Just hours after the Santa Clara City Council said it was happy with a tentative deal to build a new stadium, 49ers owner Jed York was talking up the economic benefits of the deal — and the concessions his team accepted to make it happen.
“It’s a good deal for both parties. It’s less than we originally asked for,” York said Wednesday of the subsidy to come from the city’s redevelopment agency and from new taxes on hotel guests. “I think it’s something the voters will be very supportive of.”
